CORROSION RESISTANCE
- Corrosion weakens the reinforced concrete, the rusting on steel occupies twice the volume of the original steel bar
- And this creates a pressure, which causes cracking and subsequent spalling of the surrounding concrete.
- When it comes to corrosion, the rule to follow is that ‘Prevention is better than Cure’.
- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) approves iSTEEL XLS – D TMT bars under CML No. 6121345 as “High strength deformed steel bars and wires for concrete reinforcement (TMT) low alloy steel, Gr.Fe550.”
- The National Metallurgical Laboratory in Jamshedpur tested our bars for corrosion resistance and found them to have the lowest corrosion rate.
